My Research
The Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology required me to be active in psychological research. A research project I completed looked at how men have overcome the perceived barrier masculinity can be to accessing psychological therapy.
My doctoral research focused on social class differences in the therapy room and the way in which they can impact on the therapeutic relationship. I am very interested in issues of social justice, intersectional feminism and the forces of oppression and privilege that operate in our every day lives, and the way that these things can enter into the therapy itself.
